An Ocean Retreat Steeped in History & Charm

Cliff House is available to visitors for the first time having been a much-loved family holiday home for over 40 years. This special house dates back to 1790 and is believed to have once been a place of worship for the fishermen and families in the village. Now it still sits proudly looking out over to the lighthouse at Start Point and over the village, still sporting some original features such as the front door and bell system.

Shark Fin has been welcoming visitors since 2013 and people return year after year to soak up the magical views over Sennen Cove and to walk the headland to Land’s End.  This area is renowned for its wildlife, natural beauty and stunning scenery.

All this from visitors’ own 270-degree living room (40ft across) designed in the round with seven sets of sliding patio doors leading out onto a huge decked terrace. This house is in the most stunning location nestling high on the headland at Mayon Cliff surrounded by National Trust land and the dramatic coastline towards Land’s End.

Shark Fin is the ultimate architect-designed house with all the very latest hi-tech eco features. Use of the natural environment has been paramount to harness the earth’s energy. A heat pump with two 80-metre boreholes provides zoned underfloor heating to all rooms, solar panels discreetly incorporated into the rear roof slopes provide energy for hot water and photovoltaic panels for electricity generation.
